Celebrate Valentine's Day with friends on BBO!
Mark Wednesday, February 14th, 2024, in your diary. You don't want to miss the festive atmosphere at the tables with free tournaments, prizes and surprises. What better way to celebrate the day of love than by playing a friendly game of bridge? Here's what's coming up:
3 Free Valentine’s Day Tournaments
There'll be 3 free tournaments throughout the day, each with a unique format and a Valentine’s Day theme. Here are the tournaments details:
10AM ET: Valentine's Day Pairs
- Format: Pairs, Matchpoints, 10 boards, 2 boards per round
- Special Feature: Prepared deals with a focus on Hearts
3PM ET: Valentine's Day Pairs
- Format: Pairs, IMPs, 10 boards, 2 boards per round
- Special Feature: Prepared deals with a focus on Hearts
8PM ET: Valentine's Day Pairs
- Format: Pairs, IMPs, 10 boards, 2 boards per round
- Special Feature: Goulash deals for an unpredictable and exciting game
ACBL World Pairs: Valentine’s Day Celebration
You'll also be able to celebrate Valentine's Day in the ACBL sanctioned pair games. Players participating in any of the pair games in ACBL World games on February 14th will have the chance to win random BB$ prizes. A surprise BB$ gift will be awarded every 10 minutes throughout the day.
Furthermore, the trusty TDs will be hosting quizzes and contests whenever time allows, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Participation and Prizes
- Eligibility: All BBO users are eligible to participate in the free tournaments and ACBL World games.
- Prizes: Surprise BB$ gifts will be randomly awarded to participants in ACBL World pair games. The free tournaments offer a fun and friendly experience with no monetary prizes.
How to Join
Joining the Free Valentine’s Day Tournaments:
- Go to the Free Tournaments area on BBO, and search for tournaments hosted by BBOFest titled “Happy Valentine’s Day“
- Alternatively from 24 hours before the start of the game you can use this link for quick access to the list of BBOFest games
- Registration is free. You will need a partner to register. If you don't have one, you can register with one of the lovable BBO Robots, or head over to the Partnership Desk where you can add your name, or invite someone.
Joining the ACBL Sanctioned Games:
- Go to ACBL World on the BBO platform.
- Play any of the ACBL pair games to participate. As well as enjoying the bridge, you’ll also have chances to win BB$ prizes and engage in entertaining quizzes and contests.
- You will need a partner to register. If you don't have one, head over to the Partnership Desk where you can add your name, or invite someone.

On February 14th, you'll get 50% off the following games! These are quick games (20-30 mins) that you can play while you're waiting for another tournament to begin.
It was a nice idea to give free games on Valentine's Day. Too bad that there is place to register for them. They are not listed where you said they were.
