Coming Soon: Buying BB$ with BBO Store

The Page to Purchase BB$ Will Change on July 16

Dear BBOers,

Exciting news! We are always working to improve BBO and bring new features to our users. Starting July 16, you’ll see an improved layout for the page that you're using to purchase and refill BB$. The new revamped page will be called the BBO Store and it will offer an enhanced experience of purchasing BB$ on BBO.

Be one of the first to test the new experience and see how it looks and works.

Take a look around, see how you like it, and don't hesitate to let us know if something isn't clear. Positive feedback is also welcome—even if everything goes smoothly, we would appreciate hearing that all went well. 🙂

We would love to hear your thoughts. Please take a moment to complete this two-minute survey to share your feedback on the new user experience. Or, contact us at support@bridgebase.com.

Thank you for being a valued member of our community!

  1. I won’t be buying any BBO bucks at the inflated rates in the new shop. $16.99 for $10 of BBO bucks! Not happening.

    1. As far as i'm aware only sales tax in some USA States is collected. Here's an announcement BBO made at the time, when it was required by law to collect and remit sales tax: https://news.bridgebase.com/?p=4685

Other countries are not affected. The list of USA states in that old announcement (2021) might not be fully up to date.

  2. Why is BBO now charging for ACBL world games that have been free for years. The robot games are games set for an inability to increase BBO Winning games as they dont follow conventions and are recipe for failure that now BBO wants to charge BBO$ in a true setup for failure. What a disappointment.

    1. Hi Kate. ACBL sanctioned games have always had an entry fee. We offer newcomers free ACBL games up to 5 masterpoints. Perhaps you won more than 5 points and you stopped being eligible for the newcomer promo.

There are lots of free games which are not in ACBL World though -- basically the entire site is free with unlimited play (Solitaire, Casual, Free tournaments, Challenges, Team Matches, all are free), with some optional premium games which you are welcome to not take and play for free instead.

    2. BBO is a for-profit company it's purpose is to maximize income. I stopped giving it money when it was sold. I notic the prices for games keeps increasing much more than the inflation rate. Fairly soon I expect there will cost to play for everything. That's when I leave for good.

  3. Why are you charging ACBL world games that have been free for years.the robots cheat and don’t follow conventions and now you are charging for failure!

  4. Is it enough we have to deal with all the annoying ads? It’s ridiculous! Is BBO looking for financing?

  5. I resent to have to pay tax on my BBdollars. This absolutely not an inprovable, who are kidding?

    1. State Gov's "got wise" when COVID hit and SALES TAX revenues dropped through the floor b/c EVERYONE was shopping on-line!! After all, they've learned "how to steal" with the "best of them"!!!

    1. I have always paid with a credit card and I only paid the face amount for my purchase. BBO is now adding taxes (!) to the purchase. At what rate will we be taxed? Will it be our home state? Or the state where BBO is located?

      1. Tax has ALWAYS been added to on-line purchases. The tax RATE is that of YOUR state-- NOT Nevada!!
