  1. It is difficult to defend with bots as their ACBL card is not available to view. All we know is that they play 2/1. However, what are their card signals, like Lavinthal or odd even discards? Do they play dopi ropi? Quite often when asking for aces, they drop my 4NT bid.

  2. I would like to see the list searchable, or at least sortable. Trying to find my friends’ names is like looking for a needle in a haystack (heck, i couldn’t even find my own scores, and I have a pretty good idea what my scores are)

    1. Agreed, although opening from computer you Can search the page for names(or country), on mobiledevice impossible, although bbo has many glitches on their mobileversion, so i guess that kind of thing is to be expected 😎

    2. You can get the full list, full screen by clicking on the Open in New Window icon from the green bar where it says Olympic esports...Here are the full... etc on the green bar (from the News page of BBO), and then do Cmd-F to find on a Mac or equiv on Windows - can search by player's BBO name or real name or Country etc

  3. My 65.62% is at position 744 but at position 727 in the Full Results! Based on the Full Results, there are 2,354 Qualifiers.

  4. I really enjoyed a really well planned tournament. HOWEVER it is difficult to play with RObots. It would be more fair if every player played the same boards. In general, such tournaments should be make every month. I think it would be easier to advance bridge when there is competition. Thanks to everyone involved.

    1. I agree about bots. Just saying 2/1 is not enough. BBO should provide the ACBL cards which bots use, like carding Lav or O.E., carding, DOPI etc. Otherwise extremely difficult to defend with bots!

    3. i agree totally especially as the winners prize is amazing. i dont know how people managed 90 percent scores i played well to get 67 percent

  5. Enjoyed the tournament - great fun, even if the robots sometimes dumped me in bad contracts! However the format makes it incredibly easy to cheat if you are so inclined, and the high scores indicate that many people did so. Normally scores above 70% are quite rare, but not so in this comp! Difficult to prevent unless we all play the same boards starting at exactly the same time. Even so, it was still fun.

    1. The many 70%+ scores are not an indication of cheating. They are an expected result from the high various of short (6 board) tournaments, combined with only including the top 5 scores out of as many as 40 events.

I managed to play in 23 games, and had two of my top five in the mid-70's. My two lowest scores - which aren't counted or shown - were 34.24% and 37.62%. Average score over 23 events was 54%, but all you see is my top 5, which averaged 68.71%.

Top players such as JRMayne have even more variance and super-high scores because they've mastered the robot quirks. Playing down the middle of the road is not the way to conquer this type of format.

    2. Wow that’s a bold statement. I had a 75 and 74 and was kicking myself for not doing better. It is a robot learn how to game them but don’t cry cheat when you can’t.

  6. Excellent idea. It made the Robot games more competitive and fun. As the game fees have been increasing without any improvement or reasons, I had stopped playing tournaments that cost money, unless I could win some back. However, since the "Bridge Olympics" very different with a reward of playing many more if we make it to the finals, I did not mind paying for participating in it and I would do it again. THANKS!
