Why do people keep coming back to BBO?
See players from all over the world sharing what bridge and BBO means to them. Thank you to everyone who sent in their videos. It's great to see you all ❤️
What keeps bringing you back? Drop your reasons in the comments.:
Lately, when I get on to BBO, I am removed from the game by the Host for no reason at all. I hardly never chat on BBO. If I do it is positive. The only thing I can think of is that the host doesn't like my profile. I guess it is lost game for me from now on and at 90 years old I will have to spend my time on something else. Thanks for the time and past years of playing.
Because I am hooked!!!!!!!
I like to try and guess the next glitch or bug in the software. Will it be the mis-formatting of printed convention cards, disconnect issues, random text that persists after a change of state, or something new?
I enjoy the abuse. It makes me realise that some people think a game is SO important... when its just a game.
agree
I will be 79 soon and my old bones can't sit in a chair for hours or haul enough extra cushions to do so. I can do 12 board games and an 18 board as long as I can get up and move around as long as I need to do so. I'm grateful as bridge is good for my brain!
I do my very best not to "abandon" a game in the middle of the play...and maybe once a year I do that, but am still at 98 "fullfilling rate"...hanging there for a long time now! I dont play tourns, as I have no reg p (!) so it doesnt make sense...so what for am I punished then?
ASimple fun. Easy, anytime relaxation. And challenging too.
I like playing with a robot partner. BBO allows me to play often and in a variety of games. I've played lots of instant tournaments and am always trying to get 60% or better. I also play the weekly free and see if I can beat Pete Holland
Good luck beating Pete! 😊
How and where do IfI d the weekly free
I do hate robots bidding. I'm never sure if they are bidding SAYC
Hi Sue, most BBO games use the 2/1 bidding system, although some games use a different system. If they do, it's usually mentioned in the game title, description, or by the robot's name. You can also click on any bid during the auction to see its meaning.
It relaxes me to play a few games.
And I am amazed how many EXPERTS there are out there!!!
We're glad BBO helps you relax 🙂
Covid wiped out local clubs in my city, post covid many clubs consolidated to a central location, but far too inconvenient for face to face games for me.
So, BBO is a decent way to keep playing, however wish we could block playing with certain players on some games
Thanks for sharing, we appreciate your suggestion and will pass it along to the team. 🙂
we enjoy the social bridge with distance friends which we play on line. Testing yourself against other players is interesting as the history is easily accessible.
That's wonderful to hear, John. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
BBO was and to a large extent, still is, quite amazing. If you're a bridge player and you enjoy casually playing a few hands with friends that for any reasons you cannot meet in real life, you can do it virtually, or you can make new bridge friends from across the globe at no cost. If you're a competitive type and would like to test/train your bridge skills and your mind activity, you can join a competitive timed tournament. As long as BBO is easily accessible and has at least these free features, promoting bridge, it's unbeatable, in my opinion.
Thank you for such a thoughtful comment. We appreciate your continued support. 🙂
Sometimes the ad pop-up in the middle of the screen, covering my hand, preventing me playing the hand. I have to log out and log back in to refresh the screen.
Frequently, the robot's bid does not match the descriptions of the bid.
Thanks for your feedback, David. The pop-up you're seeing is likely an advertisement, which helps us keep many games on BBO free for everyone. If you'd prefer an ad-free experience, you can subscribe to BBO+ on the web or No Ads through the mobile app. As a tip, many players find ads less disruptive when playing in a web browser. And if you come across any robot bid descriptions that don't match the actual bid, please send us a screenshot at support@bridgebase.com. It really helps us identify issues and improve the robots.
I enjoy screaming at the robots for making idotic bids.
Thanks for sticking with them. 🙂
I agree with you an oponent opened I nt I overcalled and my robot partner considered game without intermediate bids?.
100% Agree! The Robots should be programmed to bid according to SAYC. Instead, I often get a robot bidding to the 4 level with only 3 high card points
I have been away for awhile….need to get back in watching and remembering
Welcome back! We hope to see you at the tables again soon.
Fun to play the game
Thanks, Marsha! 🙂

Hi Joan, we're sorry to hear you've been running into these issues. Could you please contact our support team at support@bridgebase.com with a brief description of the problems? If possible, please include your BBO username, the device/browser you're using, and any screenshots. That will help the team investigate and assist you more quickly.
Popup ads make solo games unplayable. On a windows PC Bridge 4 reduces to a small corner in the upper left of the screen immediately after the first hand is dealt, sometimes entirely obscured by the ad there. On a phone the popup ads redirect in the middle of a hand. I am looking for alternative platforms.
We're sorry you're having that experience. If you'd prefer to play without ads, BBO+ removes advertisements across BBO. 🙂
The joy of seeing dozens of pay-to-play tournaments in the "Free" section, obviously!
Thanks for the feedback. If paid games are appearing under the Free filter, it may be due to a delay updating the list. Please make sure the Free filter is selected. If the issue continues, let us know at support@bridgebase.com
Alas, emailing Support doesn't end with any response other than the automated one.
Mainly in the naive hope that one day BB$ tournaments will become value for money again
Thanks for your feedback. We appreciate you sharing your thoughts. 🙂
why cant we access partnership desk when we have partner? The old system allowed it,bring it back!!! If it aint broke dont fix it!
Hi John, that's expected behavior. Once you're registered for a tournament, the Partnership Desk is no longer available because it's intended for players who are still looking for a partner. If you'd like to use it, simply cancel your registration, find a partner through the Partnership Desk, then register together. 🙂
BBO is where we have a second world full of friends, tournaments and learnings. While our lives are slowing we are growing in our abilities to play this intriguing game. While the table play tech is great
BBO must focus on improving:
A. Player statistics should be free
B. Chat and email must be saved for 7 days in chains
C. Tournament management tools need improvement, info in which board is being played how much time remains, searching players, reseating players, connectivity issues, chat manager upgrade, chatting between TDs. Emails have resulted in closure but no action
Thanks for the opportunity to share
Thank you for taking the time to write such detailed feedback. We really appreciate both your kind words and your suggestions. 🙂
Hey, the help desk does a great job responding, closing raised requests, but most never get anywhere near resolution.
Mano 6 livello 3 non corretto. Cambia continuamente la posizione della Q di quadri non permettendo di vincere mai la mano
Thanks for letting us know. This sounds like a game-specific issue. Could you please contact support@bridgebase.com with the game name, level, and, if possible, a screenshot?
There are connectivity issues with this app. BBO needs to fix this. None of the connections persist, so you get bounced out of the game. I've not connected to a table in a while, but any of the solo games drop on any internet connection issues.
Sorry to hear that. Connection issues can have different causes. If you're able to share a few more details with support@bridgebase.com about your device, internet connection, and how you're accessing BBO, the team will be happy to investigate.
Can always get a game and it is free
GOT DEALT A HAND TODSY WITH 2 VOIDS
Are you sure the deals are random
Thanks Greg! Two voids in one hand are unusual, but they can happen in a random deal. Every now and then, bridge produces hands that look surprising! 😉
