Reni is part of the BBO QA team, helping test new features and games behind the scenes while also being an active bridge player herself. Originally from Jakarta, she now lives in peaceful West Sumatera with her husband, where bridge, good food, and community are all part of daily life. We asked her a few questions about her work, her time on BBO, and what she enjoys outside the platform.
Tell us a little about yourself! Where are you from, where do you live now, and what does a regular day look like for you?
I'm originally from Jakarta, a big city in Indonesia. Since my husband and I both work from home, we moved in 2022 to West Sumatra, which is home to one of the best foods in the world — rendang! It's my husband's hometown, and it's a beautiful and peaceful place to live.

What do you actually do day-to-day on BBO?
I spend most of my day working on BBO as a Quality Assurance tester. I test new features and games, replicate bugs reported by users, and document my own bug findings to be checked by the Devs/Tech team. After work or on holidays, I sometimes practice or just play bridge on BBO with my friends, watch anime, or go out to enjoy the local food.
What’s the most challenging or interesting part of your job?
The most interesting part of my job is that I get to play all the games on BBO, my favorite game app!
How did you first get into bridge, and do you play regularly yourself?
My sports teacher in high school introduced me to bridge, and I've been playing ever since. I mostly play in the mixed category with my husband, but sometimes I play with other partners as well, depending on what the coach or team manager arranges.
If you could leave one message for the BBO community, what would it be?
To the BBO community: have fun playing on BBO! There are so many games to enjoy, and each one has its own unique appeal. You can try the Challenge the Stars or ACBL Challenge with BAM, play with Precision or 2/1 Advanced GIB, join the eBridge Cup with its live tournaments, or take part in the Women's Festival to meet women players from around the world.

Do you have any interesting stories to share?
Bridge has helped many people in Indonesia. Quite a few have earned scholarships through bachelor's degrees thanks to bridge, and some have gone on to become professional bridge athletes. Most Indonesian players practice and play on BBO. For me personally, working at BBO has given me the freedom to live in a small, peaceful village, and that's something I'm truly grateful for.
Reni’s story is a reminder of how much the game can shape people’s lives. Hope you enjoyed getting to know Reni a little better. Who should we talk to next?
