Last weekend, February 8, ACBL players from all over came together for the weekly Clash of the Districts. Lots of you took part across the two categories — Open, and 749er ACBL Masterpoints®.

The price for the 749er Clash of the Districts tournament was approximately 2.25 BBO dollars about three weeks ago. Now we are paying 4.5 dollars. We don't know why the entry fee has increased. However, while previously the top ten players and the top three players in the region won BBO dollar prizes, the prize amounts and number of players have not changed despite the increase in entry fees. I don't think this is an acceptable situation.
As you can see, while over 400 players used to participate, now only about 200 players are participating in the tournament. The number of participating players has decreased.
My suggestion is that if we are paying 4.5 BBO dollars, we should win more prizes. Either more BBO prizes or the top 30 players should win prizes.

749er Clash of the Districts tournament price's was 2,25 BBO dollars about three weeks ago. We have been paying 4,5 dollars anymore. Why the enter fee increase we dont know. However while top ten players and top 3 players of district won BBO dollars award before, althoguh the enter prices increase, award and players amounts havent changed. This isnt acceptable in my opinion.

Hi Yucelen, the entry fee for Clash of the Districts (749er) was increased because the number of boards was increased, and to align with ACBL’s minimum pricing requirements. Along with this change, the event now awards 200% ACBL Masterpoints®, which is double what was previously offered (it used to be 100%). While the BB$ prizes and the number of prize winners have not changed, the higher Masterpoint award is intended to provide additional value for players. We shared this update through our newsletter and pop-up, but we understand that not everyone may have seen it. Anyway, thank you for your suggestions, we may take it into consideration. 🙂
