William Bleish, or Bill, as most know him, has done it again!
He’s won the NABC Robot Individual for the third time, completing an impressive hat trick. Bill summed up his experience in his own words:
"Just as big a thrill this time around as the first two! What is crazy they all came in a row at the last three Fall NABC’s. This one I led wire-to-wire which may be even more stressful trying to protect a lead rather than coming from behind. It is getting harder and harder to win as the winning scores keep creeping up. Achieving a 70% cumulative score is no longer good enough for a win. The competition is fierce with many world class players and former NABC robot champions competing. I feel so fortunate to come out on top!
My BBO nickname is 78Jayhawk which reflects my school alma mater, the Kansas Jayhawks. There were a couple Jayhawk games on TV and I couldn’t resist watching the games while I was playing. Fortunately, the Jayhawks were able to withstand the pressure and hold their second half lead down the stretch against Notre Dame and win as I did with my NABC robot win. Stressful but so much fun! Thanks to BBO and the ACBL for staging these wonderful competitions!"
After three full days of the ACBL Fall 2025 NABC Robot Individual (and several nail-biting Jayhawk moments for Bill), here are the results:
Bill not only won, he led from Day 1 and never let go. That’s consistency you can frame… and we have, literally, because he now appears three times in the NABC Robot Hall of Fame.
He earned 48.00 Masterpoints® and the prestigious NABC title.
Daily scores:
Eric also held his position from start to finish, another wire-to-wire performance.
He earned 36.00 Masterpoints® with three very strong sessions:
Yauheni stayed in the top group throughout, earning 27.00 Masterpoints®.

I posted but it didn't seem to work so I'll post again (sorry if this duplicated). But in short, 3x in a row is remarkable, almost unbelievable if it hadn't happened, achievement. I never would have thought it was possible to win the Open category 3 years in a row. HUGE congratulations to Bill and I hope to meet him at the bridge tables online or in person some day.
I'm surprised there aren't thousands of replies. If I hadn't read it, I'd have said it was impossible to be 1st in the Open strat 3 times in a row. That is a remarkable achievement and I hope to meet Bill at the bridge tables either online or in person some day! An amazing achievement!!!
