When we first introduced the BXP (Bridge Experience Points) system, player reactions were mixed. Some appreciated the fresh approach, others made it clear they weren’t convinced. In hindsight, we set the scaling too high, and progression through the later stages became too difficult.
Your feedback helped us see where things weren’t right, and here's what we've done so far.
More achievable progression
When we introduced the BXP system, we set the bar too high and went too far. The climb was too steep, and no one had made it to the top. We gave the scaling some more thought and adjusted the entire system to allow for more achievable progression. The top title, BBO Legend, now requires 50,000 BXP instead of 100,000 BXP. As a result, we now have our first two Legends:
Close behind is leftfoot – David Smith (USA), who recently won the 2025 Summer NABC Robot Individual.
Other titles have been rebalanced too, and we've restored the coveted milestone of 1000 points, which now corresponds to Level 50 and unlocks the Virtuoso title. You'll see from Strategist onwards, we have rescaled the increments to allow for a faster progression. The system remains competitive, but you'll progress much more quickly. You can see the adjusted levels and titles here, or at any time, by clicking on the BXP System and Badges button on BBO.

Can you explain what is the meaning of the 2 numbers separated by a bar and appearing in the player profile ?
The number on the left is your current level, and the one on the right is your next level.
Inside the bar, you’ll see your current BXP / total BXP needed for this level, plus how many points are left to level up.

Everyone hated it. It’s still awful.
I agree with comments that BPX is silly. I'm totally turned off by the changes management has made to BBO. After years of playing on BBO I'm changing to a different platform.

where end free tournaments and start "charged" ?? Now "free" costs 0,10 BB$. Will next move (reasoned as speeding of possibility to gain BXPs) be "free for 0,20 BB$", or maybe 0,50 BB$ ?
Making points easier available (to not say given away) means "inflation " of ranks.

A for effort
So confusing. All I know is I can’t play in certain games I used to play in based on my bxp points. But no explanation why… I don’t know if the bxp is good to have a low number or a high number. Not to mention impossible to contact anyone on here anymore to ask clarification. The more complicated this gets the more I just go back to playing funbridgre.
Thanks for your message. Some games now have BXP-based eligibility rules—certain games are restricted to players within specific BXP ranges. For example, some games may exclude players with high BXP. The levels start at 1, which is the lowest.

I much preferred the old point system I was due to go to 5 and now I have gone from 21 to 22 so it doesnt feel like I have achieved anything
Please go back to the old system & the old font. If it aint broke, don't fix it.
Level 50 is still strategist, not virtuoso. Not important, just letting you know. The numbers are enough, please get rid of the meaningless titles.

Hi Josaphat, you can earn BXP by placing well in premium tournaments on BBO. To find these games, go to Competitive > BXP Tournaments.
The "new" system makes even less sense thn the one it replcs. You would have been ffar better off to adjust the old system'
