Dear players,
We know how much you enjoy your ACBL games, and we’re proud to announce that the partnership between the ACBL and BBO is now stronger than ever. Together, we’re renewing our commitment to growing the game and supporting the bridge community - both online and in person.
BBO and the ACBL have been working together for over 20 years, and we are their official and preferred platform for online bridge. Our shared goal is to support players like you, no matter where or how you choose to play.
As Bronia Jenkins, Executive Director of the ACBL, says:
“From first-timers to national champs, players log into BBO every day for challenge, connection and competition. That’s the magic. ACBL is proud to keep building that community together.”
This partnership is built on the belief that online and face-to-face bridge go hand in hand. Whether you’re playing from home or at your local club, you’re part of one united bridge community.
As Olivier Comte, CEO of 52 Entertainment, puts it:
“Bridge is evolving, and our partnership with the ACBL ensures that players benefit from the best of both worlds — innovation online and tradition at the table.”
On BBO, you’ll continue to find all your favorite ACBL games - including virtual club sessions, daylongs, instant tournaments, and special events. You can keep earning ACBL Masterpoints®, enjoy the familiar BBO setup, and take part in a friendly, welcoming environment.
What’s Coming Next?
We’re working closely with the ACBL to bring you even more games we think you’ll love — including new formats and major online tournaments. Keep an eye out, exciting things are coming.
Thank you again for being part of the BBO community. If you ever need help or have questions, please contact us at acbl@bridgebase.com.
See you at the tables!

My card format just changed, from a row of cards to a column now. How can I get back to a column format? Ty
Hi Steve,
It sounds like you’re talking about how your cards are displayed while you’re playing. If that’s what you mean, you can try this:
Go to Account > Settings, then look under the ‘Playing’ section. There’s an option called ‘Picture of cards’ — make sure that’s turned ON. This usually makes your cards display in a row with the card images.
KEEPS ME UP TO "GREAT BRIDGE"
Would like all tournaments to be like “UK real bridge” for f2f play where reduced cheating would be more apparent rather than acbl determining factors .
Right! I've been playing since 2008 and have ALWAYS enjoyed it! And it helps me keep my memory fit and restores my good mood...mostly...There is surely "room for better", but I'm sure the BBO team are doing their best to steadily improve the programme and I'm so grateful for this free opportunity to have pleasure and fun!
I have made so many wonderful friends, kept my mind active, worked on my bridge goals all thanks to bbo and ACBL. I hope we will continue to have tournaments and color offerings. So many seniors needthese on line games. Thank you!
I agree, on line bridge has been a whole new revolution in playing opportunity. Now only if BBO. could work on a program to avoid skewing distribution. I suppose it means robots would have to defend. Maybe a separate program could be designed for when all real players play with NORMAL DISTRIBUTION! PLEASE!

Great! Thank you!
I am sorry to see that BBO is evolving to ward the incorporation of ads, especially on the iphone versions of the software.
