Coming in 2025 - a new look for the BBO tournament list

We're working hard to improve the tournament list which will help you find games more easily. It uses a brand new filtering system. These filters allow you narrow down tournaments by format, scoring type, club, and more.

We'll be releasing this over the coming months, and some of you will experience it sooner than others. This change is part of the plan to improve your BBO experience - making the games easier to find is an important first step.

  2. Harder to find the game you want. Once registered the time remaining until game starts isn’t there. I can’t even confirm which game I am registered in. Hope changes are made soon!!

  3. I believe this new layout will be frightening to many of the bridge players considering their age. Hopefully you will be able to sort on number of boards, Host, type of game (ie speedball) and price of game.

  4. It has been released now (July 31) to the first 20% of players. They were not given notice. The new format just appears.

  5. It has been released now (July 31) for 20% of players, I was told by BBO customer service, without prior notice. One day the new format is just there.

  6. I have been forced into a testing group and now experiencing lots of issues including dropped connections during tournaments. Beta testing should be optional and not forced on people.

    Looking at the new design - even if they can get the filters to work, and connections stabilized, the new views are *not* better. The screen design is amateurish/poor with an inconsistent style from the rest of the site, and a ton of wasted space. There is *less* descriptive information visible on each line and so its a significant step backward when you are trying to quickly find the games you want.

    Hopefully there is still time to improve or abandon this new design.

  8. I hope it remembers your previous filter setting so that you don't have to spend time doing the same filter each time.

    1. I couldn't agree with you more. I have an elderly friend who literally panic and called me when this screen appeared without any notice. Change is hard when you are 96 yrs. Personally I wasn't in this first 20% group of users for the new format. I'm hoping there will be some immediate improvement from the feedback especially the disconnect issues.

  10. It's just unusable and pointless.
    And it doesn't work in all the computers, my computer still shows the old list.
    And, I have a bug to report: when clicking Competitive > Free Tournaments, and then the -> icon near the home icon, it returns us to the main screen, not to the Competitive menu.

    1. Hello Ophir - we haven't released the update yet. We are letting you know in advance.
      But thank you for pointing out the bug.

I'm more concerned that players seem to play or bid poorly on purpose (they say they are advanced or experts) and players take too long to bid or play (should have a shorter time before being replaced by a robot). I have written to BBO in the past and would like them to address the slow play issue and the issue that some players are disrespectful to others.

  16. Can you please please please include a really fast game--like 3 minutes a board? Many people wuill like that challenge

  17. Everything was perfect all these changes are just complicating things
    If it’s not broken why try fix it?
    We used be able to go to account and look at all the various different scores
    NOT NOW because someone taught to fix something that wasn’t broken

    1. I wish BBO would just quit messing around with stuff that doesn't matter, like the ranking system. The way tournaments are listed? Is there a lot of bitching about it? Nonsense,
