About the spooky scratch race

You don’t need to be the best to come out on top. You need to play consistently.  Every win, no matter how minute, earns you a “scratch.” These scratches, even as minor as 0.01 Masterpoints®, help you climb the festive leaderboard. Every play, and every point, will take you one step closer to a Halloween victory. Finish in the top 50 and you'll take home 20BB$!

How to Participate in the Scratch Race

  1. Play in any ACBL pairs game in ACBL World.
  2. Strive to earn masterpoints. Each time you earn masterpoints, regardless of the amount (even as minor as 0.01), it counts as one “scratch.”
  3. Every “scratch” you earn will be automatically tracked in the “Scratch Race” during the “Tricks & Treats” week. The frequency of your wins, rather than the total masterpoints earned, will determine your position on the leaderboard.

Win Tricks & Treats while playing

Lurking inside your usual ACBL pairs games will be random tricks & treats. You’ll be able to win BB$ prizes during play: either surprise prizes, or by answering ghoulish trivia questions. But the fun doesn’t stop there! We've even created some Halloween themed profile pictures for you to use!

Eligible Games for the Tricks & Treats Week

  • ACBL Speedballs
  • ACBL Open Pairs
  • ACBL 0-499 Pairs
  • ACBL 0-1500 Pairs
  • ACBL Flighted Pairs

Prizes

  • The top 50 leaders in the “Scratch Race” will each win 20 BB$
  • Your ranking is determined by the number of “scratches” or wins, not the total masterpoints won.

Choose a Halloween themed profile image

  1. Log in to your BBO account.
  2. Click on “Account”, it’s located on the right side of the screen if you use a computer/laptop. If you’re using a tablet or phone, you’ll find it in the bottom-right corner.

  4. You will see a collection of stock pictures. Scroll through the options to find your favorite one.
  5. Select the image you want by clicking on it. You might not see the change appear immediately in the “Your profile picture” area, but don’t worry it will change.

    1. if it is needed to have the same partner , then I need one who is ðolite , nice and fun :9 I will do my best to be good partner .

      1. You don't have to stick with the same partner all the time for this event. Feel free to play with anyone or pick a partner from the partnership desk. Unless, of course, you've found your 'soulmate' who makes every game fun-tastic! Cheers! 😉

  1. The frequency of your wins, rather than the total masterpoints earned, will determine your position on the leaderboard.

does this mean if you play 2 times and winning point each time you have perfect record so will be on top? this is 100% in frequency

    1. I am not a staff or BBO official of any sort, but I am pretty sure that “frequency” refers to a number or volume of wins rather than percentage. If it does refer to percentage, then it would be the percentage of scratches over time (7 days). Nothing else would make business sense.

    2. Hi, the frequency of your wins, no matter how small (even 0.01 points), will earn you 1 point or we call it 1 scratch on the leaderboard. So, the more often you win points, the more scratches you'll collect, which will help you climb the leaderboard.

    1. Starchieo here Have been playing with Bridge base and Trickster for about two years. am 82 and have been playing bridge since I was 10, played a lot in schools/colleges then only sporadically of 50 years. How about you?
