1) Which card do you lead from ♥QJ1032?

Correct Answer: ♥Q

From a sequence of 3 consecutive cards (AKQ, KQJ, QJ10, etc), lead the top of the sequence.

2) Which card do you lead from ♥QJ932?

Correct Answer: ♥Q

From a broken sequence where the 2 top cards are consecutive, lead the top of the sequence (the ♥9 is the 3rd card in this broken sequence)

3) Which card do you lead from ♥Q10932?

Correct Answer: ♥10

If the 2nd and the 3rd cards of the sequence are consecutive – lead the 2nd card (the top of the inside sequence), if the 2nd card is a 10 or higher. For example: K109xx, KJ10xx, etc)

4) Which card do you lead from ♥Q10832?

Correct Answer: ♥3

With no 3 card sequence (full or broken), lead the 4th best card when you have at least 1 honor (A/K/Q/J) in that suit.

5) Which card do you lead from ♥QJ732?

Correct Answer: ♥3

This is the same as the previous hand; against NT, if it doesn't start with a 3 cards sequence (full or broken), lead the 4th best card when you have at least 1 honor in that suit.

Correct Answer: ♥8

With no sequences and no honors in that suit, lead the 2nd highest card.

Correct Answer: ♥J

If the 2nd and the 3rd cards of the sequence are consecutive, lead the 2nd card (the top card of the inside sequence), when the 2nd card is a 10 or higher. Examples: AJ10x, KJ10x, AQJx, K109x, etc)

With no 3 cards sequence (full or broken), lead the 4th best card if you have at least 1 honor in that suit.

If you have less than 4 cards but there's a sequence, you can lead the top of sequence from a sequence of 2 or more.

Correct Answer: ♠2

From 3+ cards headed with an honor, lead your LOWEST card. When you lead your lowest card, you promise an honor (but no sequence).

11) Which card do you lead from ♠1082?

Correct Answer: ♠8

From 3+ cards with no honor, lead your 2nd high card and later follow with the 10, so that partner won't think you have a doubleton.

12) Which card do you lead from ♠Q2?

Correct Answer: ♠Q

From a doubleton, lead the high card 1st. High – low shows you have XX (doubleton).

13) Which card do you lead from ♠A82?

Correct Answer: ♠2

From 3+ cards headed with an honor, lead your LOWEST card. When you lead your lowest card, you promise an honor (but no sequence). You may lead under an Ace only when you defend against NT.

Note that this lead could be useful to capture a possible honor form declarer's hand: Say the declarer has ♠QXX. Partner will win the ♠K at trick 1 and continue with the ♠J, and your ♠A will capture declarer's ♠Q now or later. But if you lead the ♠A declarer will be able to win with the ♠Q later.
