The World Bridge Series came to a close over the weekend. It began on August 19, running through to Saturday September 3 and was held for the second time in the Centennial Hall, Wroclaw, Poland. Well done to everyone who took part, and for those who didn't, read on to see details of all the medal winners.

Senior Pairs

Congratulations to Piotr Bizon and Marek Blat of Poland, who scored 58.45% to secure victory in the Senior Pairs. Poland, have had a very successful series overall taking 4 of the 8 Gold medals available.

Piotr and Marek won several international tournaments in the '80s before taking a 12 year break from competitive bridge. At this time, Piotr was focusing on his research into blacks holes and the universe. Now the pairing has reformed, it's clear to see that they've not lost any of their ability and are back to their winning ways.

Congratulations to team Vytas, who beat the very strong Goodman team in the Senior Teams final.
