From January 1st to January 3rd BBO is hosting another massive bridge festival to celebrate the new year. 2021 has been a tough one for many, so here's hoping 2022 will see things improving. The least we can do together is get the year off to the right kind of start.
Over the three days of '22 Jumpstart' there'll be tournaments for all levels, and new games for everyone to try.

- Open:
- Express Reward - 6 Fast Boards, with BB$ Prizes.
0.25 BB$ entry fee, score 55% or higher and win 1.5 times your entry
fee back. Same addictive Express fun, this time with prizes.
Individual, you do not need a partner to register.
- Glitterball Country vs Country Daylongs.
One-session robot events,
"daylong" style, available each day of the festival. Each player
represents their country. Free entry. You do not need a
partner to join.
- 3-Day Auld Land Syne Robot Individual. All
welcome, must play each day to move forward to the next day. Free
entry. You do not need a
partner to join.
- Expert+:
- Newcomer:
- 3-Day Newcomer Robot Individual. Restricted to BBO
players with less than 500 BBO Points (award symbol in profile lower
than 9). "Just Declare" game -- deals are pre-bid, you are always
declarer. Must play each day to qualify for the next day. Free entry.
You do not need a
partner to join.
- Prime:
- 3-Day BBO Prime Robot Individual. Restricted to
BBO Prime members. Must play each day to qualify for the next day. Free
entry. Awards BBO Points. You do not need a
partner to join.
How to register
- The Robot events will be open for registrations as of Midnight,
US Eastern Time, January 1st, and you can start playing any time during
the day. You need to start playing from Day 1 (Jan 1st) for the
multi-session events. The robot tournaments are "daylong" style
events, where you can login, play, stop if you have to take a break and
come back to finish your daily boards -- as long as you do so before
the tournament closes (at midnight the next day).
- Express Reward games will be running 3 times per hour, as of
January 1st.
- All 22 Jumpstart games will be available in Competitive -> All
Tournaments, or in Virtual Clubs -> BBO World.
