Thanks, I know you are right. I still have less than 200 points but I remember playing in person at my club with the“open” group and finding that I learned a lot more that way. So now with your advice and encouragement I will venture with my partner into the under 1500 group:)
Helen Rose I do not a have a partnership yet. Please know I have not played in about 2years so be patient with me. hryp

Good luck to you, Eddie! I hope you have a wonderful time. I have just recently discovered the “fast 4” Hands option. You find it under first “competition”, then, “all tournaments”, then, in the search box at the top right tap in “fast”, and if they are available the pending pro open quote Express fast 4 hands” We'll show up. usually between 10 and 85 people are playing in the individual version and there is also a version for pairs, but it's all over within 20 minutes and the score is immediate. I have picked up some master point fractions so far but it is a lot of fun to be able to just hop in and play these Quick tournaments. Let me know how things go for you.
This looks like a winner for a lot of players -- my caution is that you not just play in these limited games, lest you not learn what you'll need to know when you cross the 1500 point line. Develop skills by playing against better players and asking questions.
Not mentioned in the article -- will the games be stratified (say, 499, 999, 1500) for point awards?
