An unsolvable week, so the focus is on speed, and we don't make the cut. If you happen to find a way to make them double you in the hand where 6NT can be made for 96, please let us know.
Hmm…what’s the 96?
LXXXVI is 86.
I don't understand this recurring feature. Is it supposed to be funny? Every deal always seems to involve crazy bids and plays that no one would make but that yield a top. In this set, the bidding on the first deal alone would probably get you hauled up on cheating charges -- After the auction starts 1C - 1D - 1H, the player bids 6NT with a singleton spade! Of course his robot partner turns up with AQ107 in spades. Then with CQJ73 facing CK9654 in dummy, the player plays a low club from dummy and puts in the 7, risking going down if West has the C8, but miraculously making the slam even though East turns out to have CA1082. Again, only someone who already knows the deal would make this play. What is the point of this? It certainly doesn't have any educational value.
I play almost all my BB bridge with robots. What I like is that itis a small time commitment, What I don't like is that the robots can be gamed and have behavior that can be taken advantage of to get a better score but that isn't really bridge. I was playing in an instant tournament in a nt contract and a continuation of a suit would not be good. I pitched until there was a singelton on the board. Would you like to guess what the robot did when they got on lead?.
