What is the Bridge Olympic Esports Week Tournament?
The Bridge Olympic Esports Week Tournament is a global bridge competition held on Bridge Base Online (BBO). The tournament is split into two halves with the qualification phase (followed by a rest day), then the finals. It offers players a chance to win a trip to Marrakech for the World Championships. It's a unique opportunity to showcase your skills and compete with bridge players from around the world.
When will the Bridge Olympic Esports Week tournament be taking place?
The Bridge Olympic Esports Week tournament will take place from June 19 to June 25. Please notice that tournament consists of two phases. The qualification phase will be held from June 19 to June 22. If you qualify for the next round, you'll have a rest day on June 23 to take a break and prepare. The finals will then take place on June 24-25.
How do I register?
To register for the tournament, during the tournament dates, you can simply sign in to BBO and go to ‘All Tournaments’. Click on any available Bridge Olympic Esports Week tournament to start playing. Remember that there is no pre-registration needed. Just choose a tournament, click "Register," and you're ready to go.
Do I need a partner?
No, you do not need a partner. It is an individual event where you will be playing with three robots at your table.
Do I play with robots?
Yes, you will play with robots. You will be seated as South, with robots in the other three seats at the table. You'll also declare for your robot partner when your side win the contract.
How does the qualification phase work?
During the qualification phase from June 19 to June 22, you can participate in multiple tournaments. With a total of 40 games (10 per day) over four days, you need to play at least five tournaments to be ranked. Each tournament consists of 6 boards and lasts for 24 hours. The entry fee for each tournament is 0.50 BB$. To qualify to the finals, you must achieve an average score of at least 56% from your best five tournaments. Playing more tournaments increases your chances of qualifying for the finals.
How does the final work?
The finals will take place on June 24 and June 25. After a rest day, qualified players will play in eight tournaments with eight boards each. These tournaments are available to play for 48 hours. The finals tournaments are free and open only to players who have qualified. Your best four scores from the eight tournaments will count towards your final ranking. The overall rankings will be available on Monday, June 26.

The robots will play a modified Two-over-One system. Don't worry if you're not familiar with the system, as all bids are alerted and explained automatically. You can mouse over a bid to see what the robot will understand.

No, the Bridge Olympic Esports Week tournament will be held online on BBO, so you can play from anywhere you want.
