Calling all Pairs Tournament Enthusiasts
For all pair tournament enthusiasts, last week we introduced, "Match Me With a Partner". It’s a new feature that will make your life easier when searching for a partner. Here’s what you need to know.
What's New?
- Within the Partnership Desk, in any Pair tournament, you'll see the "Match me with a partner at start" option when signing up for a game.
- When you select this option you will be matched with a partner just before the game starts if you haven’t already found someone.
- If another player is also looking for a partner and hasn't found one by the time the game starts, you'll automatically be matched together. And don't worry, we've made sure you won't be paired with anyone on your ignore list.
- If it’s a premium game, you won’t be charged for your partner’s fee. Each player pays their own fee.
This feature means you will always be able to join pairs tournaments, and in the process, you’ll make new friends along the way. The quest to find a partner has become simpler and more exciting.
How to use Match me with a Partner
- Check the box “Match me with a partner“, then Add your name to the partnership desk.
- If you manage to find a partner before the game starts, you’ll play with your chosen partner.
- If you don't manage to find a partner by the time the game starts, all players with the “Match me“ option active will be paired up and included in the game.

This feature is still in its trial phase, so please give it a go and let us know what you think. Your insights will help us continue to improve your bridge playing experience.
Get ready to meet your next partner and enjoy bridge together. We can't wait to see the amazing partnerships that will form!
I am a recently retired Physician, always wanted to play bridge. I have read a lot of Audrey Grant books, attended lectures at a very good Bridge club, participated in chat games. Played some online bridge games with Robots. I am a member of ACBL. I find this very exciting and want to join a group that will be a good fit for me. Where and how high in bridge language. Thanks
I replied to you but if you get this let me know if you got my reply.
I welcome this initiative. Would appreciate an insight as to what criteria are used to select. Players can play and understand many systems but have favorite's Can this be included - may need a change to the short description on the players profile to further enable this facility. Perhaps even a box to indicate "partnership desk" approved
Sounds good
It's better than the "no match me with a player". I feel it's almost the same if you're invited by a random player or matched by the system.
How do I know if the "partner" is on the same play level as I am?
"If it’s a premium game, you won’t be charged for your partner’s fee. Each player pays their own fee." Does this mean that you WILL be charged for partner's fee if it is NOT a premium game?
if it's not premium games, it's free 🙂
If you are matched at the last minute what is the protocol for having a convention card?
Can you consider adding a feature that allows player to specify preferred system for matchings ? E.g. “sayc only”, “2/1 only” or “any system”
I agree that this would be very useful and guess play system could be discussed online at start of play.
I would consider using. IS THERE TIME TO TICK TACK SYSTEMS WITH MATCHED PARTNER
Only useful if you match for skill levels (points) and conventions. I have some real doubts that this will work well
can only try first
Very useful feature. Thanks!

Is the matching going to consider number of points, and playing system selected? Are you going to give the players the chance to be matched in advance in order to have time to make a cards together? These are things I would consider important.
Ich teile diese Ansicht voll und ganz.. Wäre sehr hilfreich.
Can I still find a partner or place my name to plqy with someone? Joan Fenold

Thank you!
Hi Joan,
I don’t understand this system and you are the first I hear from, but it was so long ago that I don’t remember when is the tournament. The answer is I’m ready to play with someone as long as we can communicate before and agree on systems, etc. So feel free to email me.
