  1. Dear Organizers,

I am writing in a serious but constructive spirit regarding the BB$ prize policy in the BBO bridge tournament *Clash of the Districts*.

For more than a year, this event has been consistently advertised as awarding **10 BB$ to each of the Top 30 overall finishers**. This condition is clearly stated in the official “Prizes” section and has remained unchanged over time. Based on this information, many players—including myself—have chosen to participate regularly.

In practice, however, BB$ prizes appear to be paid **only to the Top 10 players**. I have personally finished in the **Top 30 many times** during this period, yet I have **never received the advertised compensation**. I am aware that this situation affects not only me, but a significant number of other regular participants as well.

If the intention has been to compensate only the Top 10, then this should have been stated clearly from the beginning. Advertising Top 30 prizes for an extended period while consistently paying only Top 10 creates a justified perception of inconsistency and unfairness, even if unintentional.

    I therefore respectfully ask:

    * Whether there is an official explanation for this long-standing discrepancy, and
    * Whether there is any intention to **compensate affected players retroactively** for the period during which the Top 30 prizes were advertised but not paid.

I value the tournament and the competitive bridge environment on BBO, but I must be equally clear: if this issue remains unresolved and uncompensated, I—and I believe many others—will have to seriously reconsider continued participation. Trust in published conditions is fundamental in competitive bridge.

I hope this matter can be addressed in a fair and transparent way, consistent with the standards expected by the bridge community.

Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to your response.

    Kind regards,
    Rumen Georgiev

    1. Dear Rumen,

Thank you for your message. To clarify, Clash of the Districts has always awarded BB$ prizes to the Top 10 overall finishers, as stated on the official game detail page and in the event rules.

Top 30 overall prizes were offered only once, as part of a one-time launch promotion, and were not intended to be ongoing.

A recent News post published on Newsfeed on January 20 incorrectly mentioned Top 30 prizes. This was a copy error and has now been corrected. We apologise for the confusion.

Because of that incorrect News post, we've sent BB$ prizes to the Top 30 overall winners, for the affected week only. Going forward, prizes will continue to be awarded to the Top 10 overall finishers, along with the district-based prizes.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

  2. Why can't you stratify this contest so as to give all players a chance? You could do up to 49, up to 299, 750, 1500, 2500 and up. There is no chance for "the little guy"

  3. I agree with Rumen. This situatıon doesnt acceptable. The organizers said, " Top 30 payout." I was 2nd place in this tournament. I received my payout. But you have to explain why you havent paid top 11-30 place?

    Sincerelly

    1. Hi RBG and Yucelen, thank you for flagging this. We found an inconsistency in a recent News post where the BB$ prizes were described incorrectly. We’ve corrected the News post. To keep things fair, we’ll credit BB$ prizes to the Top 30 overall finishers for last week’s Clash of the Districts. Appreciate you bringing this to our attention. 🙂

  4. Dear Organizers,

I am writing to formally express a serious concern regarding the BB$ prize payments in the BBO bridge tournament Clash of the Districts.

In the official event description, BB$ prizes are prominently advertised as a key incentive for participation. The “Prizes” section explicitly states that 10 BB$ are awarded to each of the Top 30 overall finishers, in addition to awards for players from the top winning Districts. This information is clear, unambiguous, and materially relevant to players’ decision to participate.

In reality, however, BB$ prizes are apparently paid only to the Top 10 overall players. This directly contradicts the published prize structure and represents a significant discrepancy between what is advertised and what is actually delivered.

Such a gap cannot reasonably be viewed as a minor technical issue. It raises legitimate questions about accuracy, transparency, and fairness, particularly for players who invested time and effort based on the explicitly stated Top 30 payout. When an event is promoted with specific, quantifiable rewards, participants are entitled to expect that those terms will be honored exactly as published.

I request a clear and direct explanation as to why the announced Top 30 BB$ prizes are not being paid in full, and whether this is the result of an error, a policy change, or an undocumented condition not disclosed in the event description.

My purpose in writing is not rhetorical. Consistency between advertised conditions and actual implementation is fundamental to maintaining player trust and the credibility of competitive events on the platform. I expect a precise clarification on this matter.

    Sincerely,
    Rumen Georgiev
