Clash of the Districts lets you earn 200% ACBL Masterpoints® every Sunday, in the same relaxed Daylong format you already know.

Each Sunday, you can play your boards at your own pace, with robots and no partner needed. You play for yourself, but here’s the twist: you are also grouped with players from your District for a friendly comparison with other Districts.

Play whenever it suits you on Sunday. You get double the points, and BB$ prizes if you finish among the top overall players or among the top players from the highest-scoring Districts.

Why should I play?

  • 200% ACBL Masterpoints®
  • Play around your Sunday schedule
  • Your score helps your District too
  • No partner needed - play with GIBBO, the new improved BBO robot
  • BB$ prizes for top players and winning Districts

Prizes

  • 10 BB$ each to the Top 10 overall finishers.
  • 10 BB$ each to the Top 3 players from each of the top 3 winning districts.
  • Earn 200% ACBL Masterpoints® and BXP (Bridge Experience Points)

How to play

You’ll find two Clash of the Districts games, featured in the Special Events menu and also in ACBL World. Choose the one that fits your level. A valid ACBL membership is required.

  • ACBL 0-749 Daylong (SAYC) – Clash of the Districts
  • ACBL Daylong (2/1) – Clash of the Districts (With GIBBO)

Registration opens on Friday, and play starts on Sunday at 5am US Eastern Time (just like the usual ACBL Daylongs) and ends on Monday at approximately 4:30am US Eastern.

Make it your Sunday game

If you already enjoy ACBL Daylongs, this is the same relaxed format, with more points, extra prizes, and a shared District goal. Try it once and you'll keep coming back!

  1. Will crystal points won in the Clash of the Districts count on BBO’s “ACBL Masterpoints Leaderboard”?

    1. Yes. They are crystal points, processed by BBO and reported to ACBL monthly.

For special events with pigmented points, which are computed and reported right away, like the Centennials last year, or the NABC Robot Individual, the points are not tracked together with the crystal ones that go into the monthly reporting.

We're considering to review which points count towards the monthly / yearly races, but at the moment it's a race exclusively for crystal points.

  2. I can’t believe Kai with her analysis on picturing bids during bidding and especially clear counting of distribution has less than 1000 MPs. I play in CMBA central mass units with a couple of diamond life masters and you have them beat by a mile. You play and think like my long time friend Sheila Gabay in EMBA who is top woman MP player in the world
Your energy in discussing hands was fun entertaining
