I first learned bridge from my father. He had been playing long before I was born. He taught me the basics when I was in elementary school, and that was enough for something to click. I even joined a Mini-Bridge event and ended up winning. That early spark stayed with me.
Life moved on, and I stepped away from bridge for a while. But years later, when I started university and looked for something to join, I found my way back to the game. It felt like coming home. I entered national and junior tournaments, played well, and realized my love for bridge had grown even stronger… strong enough that I eventually passed my dad’s level. 😀
Looking back, I’m grateful for that first introduction, those early moments reading what my father wrote on the whiteboard. So “terima kasih, Bapak” (roban01 on BBO), for opening the door to a game that has become such a meaningful part of my life.
