Hand 6, either the answer is wrong, or the question is worded wrong.
To play for the most tricks, you play for LHO to have Qx or Qxx; you will take four tricks in this case (and get three when he has Qxxx).
To ensure three tricks, go ahead and play the A and then low toward the K9, as outlined in the "right" answer. It's just that you're not getting the most tricks then, unless RHO has specifically Qx of the suit.
