Joseph Lough (BBO: DocLough)

Editor's note:
Joseph Lough is one of BBO’s top performers in ACBL Robot Duplicate games. Last year he had 40 points, and this year he finished at the top of the ACBL Robot Duplicate 20–50 point race on BBO by earning an impressive 111.19 points

Although it seems impossible, I am sixty-eight years old. I started playing bridge when I was 7, filling in when my parents needed a fourth. I played with random partners in college, adopting a modification of Kaplan-Sheinwold. Then life intervened. An MA in Church History. A PhD from Chicago in European History. Marriage. Kids. Teaching Economics at UC Berkeley. I came to BBO because Stephen Cooper suggested to try this out.

When I retired in 2019, I thought about joining the local club, but then Covid intervened. When Covid lifted, I joined the local bridge club, the East Bay Community Bridge Center, Unit 502. I love bridge for the intellectual challenge.
