I learned to play bridge many moons ago, but since golf was my consuming passion for so many years, I played very little, and never competitively. All that changed when some friends asked me to teach them bridge, and I naively accepted, thinking it would not be so hard.

Wow! Fifteen years and literally countless hours since, I have taught a great many of my contemporaries, as well as younger women, most of whom are no longer in the workforce and are now “empty nesters.”

My contemporaries, like me, are largely ex-competitive golfers. They love the challenge of getting good at bridge and competing once again in a fascinating and challenging game. The younger ones are as, if not more than, excited by the greatest game ever, in my humble opinion.

So, my favorite thing about bridge has been teaching and sharing it with others. Most all of my students have begun competing in local, Sectional, and Regional tournaments, and they do quite well, which has been a great source of pride and happiness for me.
