Tweaks to ACBL Game Results on BBO

Starting next week, you’ll notice something new (and nice!) when you check the results of ACBL games on BBO: player name.

At the request of the ACBL, and many players, BBO will begin displaying players’ names (as registered with the ACBL) in the results of all ACBL games on BBO.

Why the change?

  • Because the ACBL and lots of players have been requesting it for a long time.
  • Bridge is a social game, and people want to know who they’re playing with (and against).

The information comes directly from the ACBL. We simply display the name associated with your ACBL number. Nothing changes for non-ACBL games results.

This ACBL driven update, is part of a broader effort to bring more connection and community to online ACBL games. More to come…

  1. Oh great, another way to lose anonymity and feel shame! Those of us who dont have titles and lots of points still want to play and get better. It just discourages new people further.

  3. Hopefully, this change will also reduce bad behavior. No more hiding behind your BBO ID (when you don't display your name).
