Cards of Kindness - TYP (November 30)

Cards of Kindness - Thank You Partner Edition 💌

Hot on the heals of Thanksgiving on November 30, we invite you to thank the partners who make bridge such a special game with Cards of Kindness. You might have a partner who guides you through tough hands, makes you a smile, or always seems to pull off the perfect bid—let’s show our gratitude. No matter where you're located, this day is for everyone and their partner, so let's come together at this event to say, “Thank you, partner!”

Free Thank You Partner Games

There’s no better time to celebrate the people who make bridge so special. There are three free pairs tournaments throughout the day, giving you and your partner a fun opportunity to share the table in the spirit of thankfulness.

Ben & Friends - Cards of Kindness Individual

We invite you to try our experimental AI bridge engine, which is known as ‘Ben’ (Bridge ENgine). Ben is an AI bridge player trained on hundreds of millions of deals played by people on BBO (mostly in our ACBL sanctioned games). BBO's Ben keeps learning how to make more human leads and how to avoid bidding misunderstandings. This month, you'll get to preview of the latest improvements to BBO's Ben. Try it out and let us know what you think.

Game Info

Thank You, Partner 💌

"Twenty five years ago, my husband was anxious for me to learn bridge. He knew I had never played cards and didn't even know how many cards were in a deck! He told me don't worry, there is only one rule, just follow suit! I said sure, I can do that!

It was rough in the beginning with one friend, walking out the front door in-between games because he was so frustrated with my playing! But 25 years later I am a decent player and love the game! Thank you, sweetie!"
- BBOer RosannC, thanking her bridge sweetheart  💛

As we are all pondering what we are grateful for, let's not forget our significant others in bridge. We invite you to leave a message to your favorite partner(s) to remind yourselves why you enjoy playing with them.  Leave a comment below and help us fill this space with kind messages, or send in your story here if you’d like to see it published on the weekly Bridge Lover's newsletter.

  4. 123 Pearl: teacher, mentor and friend. Through the ups and downs of winning and losing you still continue to encourage and motivate.. thank you

  5. When I first met my partner to be he asked if I played bridge. My reply was yes , I do, it is just a game of common sense! In later years he has got into the habit of saying “better players do this etc” when he is discussing the game with me! Nevertheless I continue to play with him despite the annoying nuances. The fact remains we have done ok in the past by winning the odd trophy,. On those occasions I have said “It takes two to tango” and wait for the cheeky answer!

  6. My long term wife Monica 21 is one of the p's of all time. We met on bridge on our old accounts 16 years ago, she insulted my plays at the time and I fell in love with her. We are happily married now for 12 years with 4 beautiful children. Thank you bridgebase.com!

  7. To Barbara Duer,
Thank you for all the mentoring, blood sweat and tears that has brought me up to where I am today.
You are a terrific partner and great player.
We have further to go and I am looking forward to it

  9. Teaching my granddaughter bridge at an early age paid off. Now at 23 she is mastering the game with lightning speed. How proud and fortunate for me to have the opportunity to play with her in a regional tournament and scoring red/gold MP.

  10. To Wes
You have taken me in hand, fixed my computer many times, and helped me with bridge.
tyvm You have been most wonderful to a stumbling player.

  11. Thank you to Ferryfan who has always been an absolute delight to play with. She is far and away the bestest bridge-mate I've ever had. It helps that we are genuine friends away from bridge. I simply couldn't imagine not playing together. 🫂

  12. I would like to thank Snuggles50 for being a fabulous teacher and partner 😁. He spent countless hours teaching, revising and playing with me. He taught me to love the game and I am so grateful. Thank you Snuggles50 for being the Best Partner Ever.

  13. My favorite partner is rhody49. I would like to thank him for his patience, kindness and great bridge sense! I hope we can play together for many years to come.❤️

  14. My favorite partner is NJOFESS. First of all, she is extremely tolerant of me and never (well almost never) scolding. Bridge is just more fun when we play together.

  15. To an extremely sweet lady whom I have had the pleasure of knowing for over 20 years and bridge partner thank you for being you and taking me under your wing at CC. Those were wonderful years. You are the best.

  16. Alan Skvirsky has been my P for 20 years. You have been at times kind and caring, grouchy and intolerable.I wouldn't trade any of it.Best of all you are my friend and I love you. Thanks

  17. Maybimamzd is the best partner! We debate, discuss, improve, leave each other stranded in missed conventions, pass forcing bids and laugh until we cry! Thanks Jenn!!

  18. This is a thank you to husband as well as my favorite sister and brother-in law. ( Luckily my other sisters and in-laws do not play BBO bridge and won’t see this! ). We’ve gone from nights of face-to-face bridge over a few bottles of wine, to playing across the continent during Covid and helping each other stay sane. Having one to two bridge games a week during that very isolating time was so valuable. Now we live only 1000 miles away from each other more or less, Covid restrictions are just about over, but playing BBO is still a highlight of the week. We multitask as we play, since gossip is a big part of our bridge games. As our lives get more complicated, it gets harder to schedule these important games, and yet we each still make it a priority. So thanks for your friendship, your gamesmanship, and most importantly, your acceptance of my physical and sometimes mental, handicaps. Love you lots. Debbie.

    1. I think you should totally get your siblings and in-laws on BBO too—imagine the fun (and the gossip) with video chat on BBO+. Don’t worry, your secret’s safe with us—your sisters won’t hear a thing! 😊

  19. I have the perfect partner: she never gets mad, even when I have made a terrible bid or play; she always finds a way to make me laugh; and she dishes out the sweet compliments when I do well. Thank you Barbie.

  20. Thank you gor being one of my favourite partners and for your wonderful company on our bridge holidays
