If E ducks heart, cant you now play club T , win the return and proceed?
You have to play on clubs in trick 3 to make it.
I think problem 1 is incorrect, east ducks the heart and now you go to dummy with a spade and play a heart, east wins and returns a spade, South now has no time to develop a club trick, if you go to dummy with a diamond east will get a ruff.
it just said play a spade - which is fine...it doesn't need to say cover whatever RHO plays.
Option 2 in question 2 is at least slightly incomplete with respect to the play in the spade suit
