This is a very good tip especially to those new to the blogosphere. Simple but very precise info… Many thanks for sharing this one. A must read article!
Do players have to follow their convention cards while playing ,like opening, weak 2 with 5 cards instead of 6 or opening 4 of a major when cc says 6 on weak 2 or 5 of a major. That has happened and justvwondered.
This was not third hand, it was opening with 4 spades and 9 points from a foreign country. Maybe they play different but their cc said open 5 of a major on 1st and 2nd position and 4 in third.
Same with weak 2 opening. 6+
I agree--the NLM tournaments were great and not well-publicized. More people would play if they were! I also don't think it's particularly resource intensive for ACBL to offer those games, so I'd like to see them offered again, with some better publicity to attract more players!
We the seniors( 80 and abobe ) deserve a chance to to play tournament exclusively among our age group . Generally we are not as mentally sharp as youngsters.
Its all about money. They are certainly making plenty from all of the other games. They need to put a game on for the newer players. Many people didnt even know it existed
Hi Judy, ACBL told me it was cancelled due to lack of participation. I miss it too and sent them an email this morning asking for reinstating it once a day. It’s what newer players need. Maybe they should advertise it more. But we don’t want to detract from Virtual Clubs’ restricted games. Maybe we’ll have good luck?
Most NLM did not know this existed. We found it only to have it end that very week. BBO would be very well served to have a schedule of games listed, so that you can find a game days ahead, not just two hours ahead if you are lucky enough to be online at that time.
'9' high comps are good, is there a market for a similar limited entry comp limited to a max average of the pair?
This would allow weaker players to play with experienced players & hopefully learn such as card play which is often the difference between a top or bottom.

Ilike to plays week end progS
I too would like to see the NLM tournaments reinstated. I only recently learned about them.
I can't play any free tournament because of my low tourney.. what should i do to get more tourney??
Curious— what has happened to the BBO photos?
I would like NLM games as well.
ACBL needs to have sectional games so we can get silver points; more NLM games for gold would also help. I didn't see any NLM tournaments.

No. And especially not third in hand after two passes.

Why can't ACBL allow robot partners?

Why don't you answer questions about non life master tournament. Many of us liked it as we could relax and play without the expeets.
Where did it go?
We were not having enough participation in those games, so we are evaluating other game activities for NLM players.
I would, also, like to know what happened to the NLM.

I enjoyed the non life master tournaments. I found it a valuable teaching experience

I, too, miss the NLM games at 1:30. They were a great chance to compete for us with not a lot of points. I hope you will bring them back.
Is there a special silver or red or gold coming up
Nov. 23-29 1/4 gold points. $5/table ACBL fee.
Good to see you!!! I never see you directing in the sessions I play, usually 12 and 2:00. I hope we see you in real life again
