Win ACBL Masterpoints® with ACBL Games on BBO

ACBL games on BBO are club-level games sanctioned by the ACBL that have been hosted by BBO since 2004. The games are similar in many ways to what you'll be used to playing at your local bridge club; but you can pretty much play at any time.

If you've played on BBO in your virtual ACBL club, the ACBL games hosted by BBO will be very familiar; Choices of 12 or 18 boards, MPs or IMPs, and open or limited fields. You can play with the robots, with a partner or even as a team. ACBL Classic games award unpigmented masterpoints, which count towards your next ACBL rank (to understand the different types of masterpoints, please visit the ACBL website.)

Play when you want

Earn ACBL Masterpoints and play whenever you want to. ACBL games hosted by BBO are a great option to enjoy bridge and sharpen your skills when your regular virtual or face-to-face clubs aren't running a game. And what's more, the games are affordable and you can pair up with a polite robot, if your regular partner is not available.

    1. Hi Rhonda,
You'll find all ACBL games in the "ACBL World" section. When you login to BBO, you'll find it under the 'Featured Areas'.

  1. Have you entered your ACBL Number into your BBO bio? If you do this, the pts show up as black, and they are registered and available for view on the ACBL website as well.

    1. Hi Roy,
All masterpoints earned in ACBL Virtual Club games are black. Masterpoints earned in games listed in the "ACBL World" section are unpigmented. Both of them count towards reaching the next ACBL rank.

    1. Hi Doraine,

Higher-level masterpoints, like Silver, Red, and Gold, are only available in special events organized by the ACBL. We should have some special events later this year, but we do not have yet a formal schedule. Please follow our newsletter to get early notifications about ACBL special events. 2. every time i play two sanctioned games with robots... i am stopped from playing more for a certain period of time

    1. Hi g,

Isn't that annoying? Happens to me too. The issue is that the ACBL has an 11-year-old regulation that prevents us from allowing players to register for more than two ACBL-sanctioned events within the same 60-minute period. We've requested many times to flex this restriction, to no avail. Feel free to suggest a rule change to your district director or contact the acbl (662-253-3191 or service@acbl.org). Thanks!

    1. Hi Vasu,
Masterpoints earned in games listed in the ACBL World section are unpigmented. To earn black masterpoints, you need to play in a VIRTUAL CLUB game (in the main menu, click Virtual Games > ACBL - North America). Both types of masterpoint count towards reaching the next ACBL rank.

  3. I have been playing in the 0-499 section for several months. when I get points, they are colorless and not recognized by the ACBL so what are you talking about?

    1. Hello Nancy
ACBL classics are sanctioned games and they award Masterpoints. Your ACBL Masterpoints are reported to the ACBL at the beginning of each month and count towards your rank advancement.
