About the monthly Country vs Country Championship

This is a monthly event, taking place at the beginning of each month. You have three days to play 32 boards, any time from the 1st Lunes of each month, until Miércoles. Each player represents their country. The championship is open 72 hours.


Formato

  • The tournament lasts 72 hours, from the 1st Lunes of each month, until Miércoles. You can play at any time during those three day. You can stop playing and resume later. You can play all your 32 boards in a single day, if you prefer, or split them over the 3 days of the championship, at your own pace.
  • The tournament can be played starting from 00.00 (midnight) New York Time on the 1st Lunes of the month, until 23.59 New York Time on Miércoles (it is open for 72 hours).
  • Your IP address determines which country you represent.
  • Each country's score is obtained as an average of the top 20 scores from that country + overall country average.
  • If your country doesn't have at least 20 players, you'll be representing Team World.
  • Entry fee is 0.10 BB$
  • 32 boards, Matchpoints scoring, random hands.
  • BBO points and BB$ prizes awarded to the top finishers.

Premios

  • BBO points awarded to top finishers.
  • BB$ prizes awarded to top 50 winners.
  • Grand prize is 100 BB$.
  • Players who join with multiple aliases are disqualified.

How does this work?
Each table consists of a single human player, sitting South, and three robot players sitting in the other three seats. You can play your hands at any time from Lunes until Miércoles, over a 72 hours time span.

If you need to take a break, you can stop, and resume as many times as you need during the 3 days of the championship. You have 32 boards to complete, so be careful not to start playing them too late, otherwise you won't have time to finish.

Results
Results will be sent to your BBO Mailbox when the tournament ends (on Jueves morning). You can view a "provisional result" as soon as you finish playing your boards, or by clicking the Completed tournaments link, in the list of tournaments. Final results will be available in Recent Tournaments, in the History tab, once the tournament is completed.

Humano Declara
El jugador humano se cambia al asiento Norte (Robot) siempre que el Norte sea el declarante. El jugador humano declara la mano. Cuando la mano termina, el humano vuelve a su asiento original.

Deal Pool
Por cada tablero en un torneo Daylong, repartimos múltiples instancias. (Es decir, no todo el mundo recibe el mismo tablero 1, tablero 2, etc.) Esta es una medida contra las trampas.

Acerca de los robots
Los robots utilizados en BBO se llaman GIB (Ginsberg's Intelligent Bridgeplayer). Puede obtener más información sobre el sistema de pujas de GIB haciendo clic aquí.

Los GIB utilizados en BBO juegan con un sistema de pujas 2/1 relativamente sencillo y natural. Puede averiguar el significado de cualquier puja haciendo clic en la puja que aparece en el diagrama de pujas. Además, cuando sea su turno de pujar, al mover el ratón sobre los botones de las distintas pujas posibles aparecerá una explicación de la puja que está considerando (tal y como la entenderá su compañero GIB). Estas explicaciones pueden ser algo crípticas, pero leerlas cuidadosamente antes de pujar le ayudará a evitar malentendidos con su compañero GIB.
