BBO membership: how it works

Starting August 17, you can choose a membership plan on BBO.

BBO is the world’s largest bridge club, and you’re part of it. On August 17, membership plans launch — membership is what keeps BBO running and funds the next 25 years. Thank you for playing here, and for the support you’ve given BBO along the way.

If you have a BBO account, you’re already a member.

You have been since the day you joined, and that doesn’t change. Here is what’s different: free play now gives you 6 deals (hands) a day, every day. If you want unlimited play, you can move to a Premium membership. Everything else stays the same, and either way you keep your place here.

A deal is one hand — one board played at a table. Watching a table doesn’t use any.

The three plans

Basic

Free

Includes 6 deals (hands) a day across eligible free games.

Basic members can
  • Play paid tournaments and challenges as usual.
  • Join tables with an open seat. These games use your daily deals.
  • Watch Vugraph.
  • Play eligible free tournaments while you have daily deals remaining.
  • Challenge a friend, a star player, or a robot — this uses your daily deals.
  • Play in tables, tournaments, team matches, or challenges when invited as a guest, without using daily deals.

Basic No Ads

US$3.99/month

The same as Basic, but without ads.

Includes
  • Everything in Basic.
  • No ads.
Everything BBO offers

Premium

US$5.99/month
First year, then US$9.99/month

As a Premium member, you play with no daily cap and get everything BBO offers.

Premium members get
  • Unlimited play across eligible free games
  • No ads
  • Advanced robots*, with basic robots always available
  • Video chat
  • The ability to start tables and team matches
  • Access to Arena and Group Challenges
  • Bridgerama+ digital magazine

* Advanced robots are included in Premium at least through December 31, 2026.

A few things to know

  • Paid tournaments and paid challenges are not affected by the daily deal cap.
  • The daily deal cap applies only to eligible free games.
  • You can see your membership and available features after logging in once plans open on August 17.
  • Club and business partner accounts are not affected. If you run a club or work with BBO as a partner, your account and your tools keep working exactly as they do today.
  • Teaching tables are not affected. Playing at a teaching table opened by a teacher never uses your daily deals.

Everyone gets a free Premium period

Every BBO member gets at least one month of Premium membership free, so you can explore everything Premium includes before choosing a plan. There is nothing to request and no condition to meet — your free period starts on August 17. We’ll send a message 2 days before it ends, so you can decide whether to keep your Premium membership.

If you decide to upgrade, do it in the BBO store before your free period ends and you’ll get an extra month of Premium membership free. This offer is only in the BBO store.

Recognizing our most loyal players

A club remembers who shows up. Our most loyal players get more: if you’ve been one of BBO’s most active players over the years, you’ll have Premium membership at no charge, in recognition of what you’ve given to BBO.
