eBridge Cup Open Finals

This free Practice Tournament is open exclusively to eBridge Cup Open Finalists. It’s your chance to warm up before the Finals and get comfortable with BBO’s interface and our advanced GIBBO robots.

When: Monday, August 10
Format: 5 tournaments of 12 boards each, Matchpoints scoring
Robots: GIBBO, playing the 2/1 system
Awards: BXP to top finishers

For practice, these tournaments remain available for 48 hours, giving everyone plenty of time to find them, register, and get familiar with the BBO interface.

During the Katowice finals, however, each session will have a one-hour time limit. We recommend using the practice tournaments to get comfortable completing each of the five segments within one hour.

The deals are not “Best Hand”, meaning they are not rotated to give the hand with most HCP to the human player.

Use this practice session to familiarize yourself with BBO's robots bidding style, and to experience the same conditions under which the eBridge Cup Challenger Finals will be played.

Results
Results will be sent to your BBO Mailbox, and can be accessed via the "History" tab under "Recent Tournaments" from Wednesday, August 12, after the tournaments are completed. You can also see your provisional results for each daylong, as soon as you finished playing your boards, and check back for updates in the list of "Completed tournaments".

Human Declares
If your Robot partner is declarer, you will play the hand.

Deal Pool

About the robots
The robots play a simple and natural 2/1 bidding system. Find out the meaning of a bid by clicking on it in the bidding diagram. When it is your turn to bid, hover your mouse over the possible bids and you will see an explanation of how your robot partner will interpret it.
