This free Practice Tournament is open exclusively to eBridge Cup Finalists. It’s your chance to warm up before the Finals and get comfortable with BBO’s interface and GIB robots.
When: Monday, November 10 to Friday, November 14
Format: 32 boards, Matchpoints scoring
Robots: GIB, playing the 2/1 system
Awards: BXP to top finishers
The deals are not “Best Hand”, meaning they are not rotated to give the hand with most HCP to the human player.
Use this practice session to familiarize yourself with BBO's robots bidding style, and to experience the same conditions under which the eBridge Cup Finals will be played.
Results
Results will be sent to your BBO Mailbox, and can be accessed via the "History" tab under "Recent Tournaments" from Saturday, November 15, after the tournament is completed. You can also see your provisional results as soon as you finished playing your boards, and check back for updates in the list of Completed tournaments.
Human Declares
If your Robot partner is declarer, you will play the hand.
Deal Pool
Not all players receive the same hands. This is to prevent cheating.
About the robots
The robots play a simple and natural 2/1 bidding system. Find out the meaning of a bid by clicking on it in the bidding diagram. When it is your turn to bid, hover your mouse over the possible bids and you will see an explanation of how your robot partner will interpret it. Read these carefully to avoid misunderstandings with your robot partner. You can find out more about the robot's bidding system by clicking here.
