BXP World Tour - Conditions of Contest

1. General Overview

The BXP World Tour is an international online bridge event competition hosted by BBO. It takes place from January 1st to June 30th on BBO. The event consists of 3 phases: Regional, Country and World. Players represent their region and country in the Regional phase, and advance based on performance throughout the season.

2. Eligibility

Everyone is welcome to participate.

Players have the option to select their Country and Region at registration. Once the competition starts, this affiliation cannot be changed for the duration of the event.

3. Registration

  • Pre-registration opens: December 19, 2025

Pre-registration: One tournament will be open for registrations starting with December 19, 2025.

Registration: The event starts on January 1st, 2026 and the Regional phase will be open for anyone to register and play until March 29.

3.1 Affiliation Choice

When a player enters the first tournament of this event, they are prompted to select their Country and their Region. Once they have made their choice, they can no longer change this affiliation for the rest of the event.

Each player must select:

  • One Country (the country in their BBO profile is suggested by default)
  • One Region (state, province, department, or equivalent)

Players in small countries will only be asked to select their country, without choosing a Region.

Example: Selecting USA as the Country automatically suggests to the player USA States as Regions to select from. A player who selects Romania as a country will not be asked to select a region, and will play for team Romania - All regions.

3.2 Participation Limits and Minimums

There are no upper limits to the number of players per Region or Country.

All players from the same area are automatically aggregated on collective leaderboards.

In order for a region or a country to form a team on the event's regional, country and global rankings, it needs at least 8 players. If this minimum is not reached, players will be grouped in the “other” category.

Example: If Florida only has 5 participants, they will join the team “United States - Other regions”. If there are only 5 players in Vanuatu, they will play in the team “World - Other countries”.

5. Rankings

The BXP World Tour features multiple leaderboards reflecting performance at different levels of competition.

Regional Rankings

Players are ranked within their Region. At the end of the Regional phase, the top 3 players in each Region, as well as players who scored 55% or higher advance to the next phase.

Country Rankings

Players are ranked within their Country. At the end of the 2nd phase (Country vs Country), the top 10 players in each Country, as well as players who scored 55% or higher advance to the next phase.

Global Leaderboard

The Global Leaderboard ranks all participating players worldwide based on their best 10 results, regardless of Region or Country.

If two or more players have identical scores, the tie is resolved by comparing their highest single-session result. The player with the higher single-session result is ranked higher.

Each player can view their own ranking on the BXP World Tour Leaderboards.

Leaderboards are updated once per day.

6. Awards

  • Exclusive titles (Regional, Country, or World Champion)
  • Dedicated badges
  • BB$ prizes
  • Official Certificates
  • BXP World Tour Trophies
  • Official BXP merchandise
  • Other Gifts and Prizes

7. Fair Play and Conduct

By participating, players agree to play without external assistance, communication with other participants, or any behavior that could compromise the spirit of fair competition.

Players will not mis-represent themselves by allowing someone else to use their account to play on their behalf.

Players will not share information about the deals, results or current session before the session is completed. This includes posting in social media, forums, livestreaming or other forms of exposing unplayed hands to the other participants.

To ensure fairness:

  • All deals are drawn from a randomized pool. Not everyone plays the same boards.
  • All tournaments are played with robots. All bids are automatically explained, ensuring full disclosure.
  • On BBO, the robot used is Advanced GIBBO, playing 2/1.
  • Each player must use only one account. Players found using more accounts are disqualified.
  • BBO system may flag situations where multiple accounts are used on the same device. Unfortunately, it cannot always tell whether it's a single player using multiple accounts or different people sharing a device. To avoid confusion, we recommend using separate devices if multiple players from the same household or network wish to participate.
  • The organizers reserve the right to disqualify players if there is suspicious activity related to connection patterns or behavior that suggests misuse or breach of the rules.

8. Administrative Provisions

The BXP World Tour is organized by Bridge Base Online (BBO).

Organizers reserve the right to amend the structure, dates, or rewards if operational circumstances require. Any updates will be communicated promptly via the official Conditions of Contest page.

Participation implies full and unconditional acceptance of these Conditions of Contest.
