NEW: try our "ACBL Flighted Pairs" for free!

From Friday, December 2nd, until Thursday, December 8th, we'll be trying out a new game: the ACBL Flighted Pairs.

In flighted pair games, the field is divided by strength: the strongest pairs play in the top 'Flight', only against other strong pairs. Less experienced pairs play with their peers in their own 'Flight'.

The experimental games are FREE and start on Friday, December 2nd, at 11:10 PM Eastern Time (8:10 PM on the West Coast). You’ll be able to play on us once a day for a full week.

Do well and you could win ACBL masterpoints®. Bring your partner and play 18 boards. No pard? Use the game's partnership desk to find one.

How do I register?

Click ACBL World and look for the ‘11.10 PM ACBL Flighted Pairs’. Registrations open two hours before start time.

  1. I appreciate that there is another pairs game (not speedball) in the evening for west coast players. I liked the event. 7 minutes per board seems longer than necessary. I hope BBO finds it worth while to continue this type of competition.

  3. I played with the same partner Sunday night and Monday night. Sunday night, we were in the B strata, and on Monday night we were in the A strata. What's up?

  4. tried this new event. Seven min. per board is just to long, will not be playing it again unless 6 min. Thanks for trying something new.

  5. I registered early, and at exactly 8:10 I got a message "Your registration has been cancelled" with no explanation. ???

  6. Something went wrong the first night of flighted pairs. It's extremely unlikely that the top 7 pairs in the first EW section were defined as C pairs and yet got better results than any in the second EW section where all pairs were B's, according to the final table. But in addition to that, one of the "C" pairs featured players with, respectively, a 40 BBO number and a "J" BBO number: that can't possibly be a "C" pair: why were they listed with all other C pairs? Such oddities make the entire system of rewards suspect.

  7. My partner and I resisted to play but when it said “Starting Soon!”, the game disappeared from our screen. Very disappointing.

  8. It will be available as of December 2nd (Friday), for a week, every day. The game starts at 11.10 PM US Eastern, and is open for registrations as of 9.10 PM.
