It doesn't take long before beginning bridge players want to know more about bidding systems, and especially about conventions. Even social players are usually keen to add a few choice gadgets to their bidding arsenal. Here 25 basic conventions and treatments are carefully explained, and the reader is shown how they can fit into standard bidding methods. Each section ends with a summary chart as well as a self-quiz to ensure that the concepts are understood.

  1. My son bought and forwarded an Adobe pdf copy of the book as a present. I have downloaded it. However my copy has blanks here and there. Two examples:
Page 13: Sample hand at the bottom is missing.
Page 18: Whole page is blank except for the header paragraph which starts: "Suppose the hand is ..."
I suspect these blanks are widespread. How do I get a clean pdf copy of the book?

  2. I bought this by sheer accident at a London airport and the paper back was STG 11.50 (I think) This is my go to reference book now. the 'What's in a Name' and 'By the way' are little gems. The only thing to remember is that despite not being system based it is based on 15-17 1NT and 5 card majors so occasionally the examples have to be modified for this. Invaluable, particularly for an irregular player such as myself who fill in with different partners.

  3. I bought this book and downloaded it as a PDF on Firefox, read a few pages, had supper and the PDF was gone!

The email that I received from PayPal reads:
"You sent a payment of $11.99 USD to Master Point Press.
    Transaction ID
    6VG66091AC0354349"
How do I download it again?
    I am using a Mac, OS 11.2.3
    Thank you!

  4. 25 Ways to take more tricks as Declarer by Barbara Seagram & David Bird is available---1st published 2003

  5. This is probably the single most valuable book on bridge that I have ever read-- in fact, I went on to buy their books 25 more conventions ..., 25 ways to play better defense and 25 ways to learn 2 over 1. They we all great. If the come out with 25 ways to improve declarer play, I'll snap that one up as well.

    1. I just bought her latest book, "Barbara's Bridge Tips". There are three sections, Bidding, Declarer Play and Defense. Excellent

  6. I would like to purchase 25 Bridge Conventions as a gift for my sister who is a new player. Where can I purchase the book?
